Bass Guitar Teacher Melbourne

Anthony Pell, formerly a guitarist of ten years, has been playing bass guitar since the late 1990’s. As fate would have it, Anthony helped out a friend’s band one night, picking up the bass for the first time. From that epic moment, he’s been exploring the instruments low frequencies ever since.

Influenced by Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and jazz bass legends, Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke and many more, Anthony’s ever growing diversity is reflected through all his styles of play; funk, fusion, blues, jazz, classic and modern rock to chart pop tunes.

A dynamic and well versed musician, Anthony also possesses a music degree which encompassed classical composition and audio engineering components. Anthony also writes and records music productions for TV, film and video.

An in demand bass player living a hectic musical lifestyle which includes being bass player for Melbourne jazz/funk band Trumpet, Classic Rock/Top 40 cover band Chrissie & The Muzikfreakz and the house bass player for Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Richmond. Anthony also records and performs electronic/funk/jazz groove music under the name of Apell and released his 3rd studio album “Reconstituted” in 2008 and is currently working on his 4th release due 2010.

This diverse experience allows Anthony to help you to develop your playing over a range of musical styles.

Anthony also possesses a Working With Children Check (WWCC) from the Victorian Department of Justice.

Funky version of George Geshwins jazz standard performed at the 2009 Grampians Jazz Festival with Le Melange. Using chromatic leading notes and arpeggios to outline the notes of the chords.

Epic heavy rock song War Pigs by Black Sabbath performed at Musicland in 2007. An example of E minor pentatonic improvisation underneath the guitar solos.
